Last weekend I was in Port Angeles with my colleague, Sandi Billings, to host the Port Angeles Symphony's November 2nd concert.   Music Director and Conductor Adam Stern and I joined forces for the pre-concert chat.  Adam spontaneously said, "Let's wing it!" before going on stage and so we fielded questions  covering a wide range of topics including the Brahms Symphony No. 3  and how I put together my morning classical music program.

Northwest Symphonies Spotlight Video Game Music

Link is the main character from The Legend of Zelda video games, which will be celebrated by a performance from the Seattle Symphony.

In the next couple of weeks, Northwest symphonies are reaching out to the gamers. The Port Angeles and Seattle Symphonies will both be showcasing video game music in upcoming concerts and while lush orchestral music is now present in many game soundtracks, it’s taken quite a while to get there.

A New Season Of Classical Concerts

Northwest symphonies and chamber groups are gearing up for an exciting 2012/2013 season! Here are just a few of the great classical music performances you can enjoy in coming months around the region:

Moscow: Chanticleer, the American male vocal ensemble dubbed an "Orchestra of Voices," (pictured left) is coming to Moscow, in October as part of the Auditorium Chamber Music Series.
