Oregon Death Row Inmate Asks Judge To Overturn Governor's Reprieve

Gary Haugen has asked that the repreive Gov. Kitzhaber issued on Haugen's execution be overruled.

Late last year, Gov. John Kitzhaber issued a moratorium that put on hold the execution of twice-convicted murderer Gary Haugen. Now the death row inmate is asking a judge to overrule that reprieve. Haugen appeared in a Marion County courtroom Tuesday.

Obama's Portland Visit Met By Protestors

President Obama's visit to Portland was met by several groups of protestors.

President Barack Obama is in Portland this afternoon. He arrived late this morning and met with members of the Oregon National Guard.

The president also made a stop at The Gateway Breakfast House in Northeast Portland, where he greeted diners and sat at a table with three Oregon veterans.

Memories of TV Clown JP Patches

All over Western Washington, Baby-boomers who grew up watching TV here are remembering J.P. Patches. The TV clown whose real name was Chris Wedes passed away Sunday at the age of 84.

His popular kids program was broadcast on KIRO TV for 24 years, and for some of that time, it was on not once a day, but twice. Wedes shared that story in 2001 with KUOW’s Dave Beck.

ODFW to Launch Unmanned Drone on Oregon Coast

Wildlife officials plan to launch an unmanned aircraft on the Oregon coast. They hope the drone will allow them to monitor seabird populations on hard-to-reach rocky islands that serve as nesting grounds. KLCC’s Jes Burns reports.
