Court Questions Validity Of Abortion Law Used To Charge Idaho Woman

Jennie McCormack of Pocatello, Idaho, was arrested last year for inducing an abortion with RU-486 she got online.

A federal ruling out Tuesday will prevent further prosecution, for now, against an Idaho woman charged with having an illegal abortion. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals also questioned the constitutionality of the anti-abortion law Jennie Linn McCormack was charged with violating.

Kitzhaber To Appeal Execution Reprieve Decision

Gov. John Kitzhaber plans to appeal a decision that clears the way for Oregon's first execution in 15 years.

The case of an Oregon death row inmate seeking his own execution is headed for a higher court. Gov.John Kitzhaber said Tuesday he plans to ask an appeals court to overturn a decision that cleared the way for the state’s first execution since 1997.
