Illegal Meat And Fish The Subject Of Raids In Washington

A series of raids by Washington Fish and Wildlife police have targeted suspected poachers and traffickers of items like game meat, endangered fish and antlers.

Washington Fish and Wildlife police have raided more than a dozen locations around the state. The one day blitz on suspected poachers and traffickers follows a two year undercover investigation.

Wash. Gov. Chris Gregoire says U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu, shown here, told her last week that he’s spending 10 hours a week personally dealing with Hanford’s major issues.

Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire says she’s hoping the U.S. Secretary of Energy’s personal attention to the Hanford Nuclear Reservation can avert a lawsuit over cleanup delays there. She made the comments today after a speech about Hanford in the Tri-Cities in southeast Washington.
