More Than 500 Out-Of-State Offenders Living In Wash. Have Abscond Warrants

Thursday marks three years since four Lakewood police officers were murdered in a coffee shop. The gunman was an Arkansas parolee named Maurice Clemmons. Since then, records show an additional 3,400 out-of-state parolees have moved to Washington. And hundreds more have absconded. Olympia Correspondent Austin Jenkins reports.

This will be the third anniversary since four Lakewood police officers were gunned down in a coffee shop. Lakewood Officer Receives Federal Embezzlement Sentence

A former police officer in Lakewood, Washington will spend 2 years, 9 months in federal prison, and pay immediate restitution. That was the sentence handed down in federal court today after he pleaded guilty to embezzlement. Amy Radil of KUOW reports.

In federal court in Tacoma, former Lakewood police officer Skeeter Timothy Manos faced the anger of the people he stole from.

Manos has admitted to embezzling over $150,000 from his police officer’s union and the families of fallen officers.

Lakewood Police Officer Accused of Diverting Funds for Slain Officer's Families

A police officer in Lakewood, Washington was arrested Wednesday for embezzling funds meant for the families of slain Lakewood police officers. He’s accused of diverting the donations from union bank accounts and using them for trips, gambling and home remodeling. KUOW’s Amy Radil reports.
