Warmer winters caused by climate change could make it more difficult to operate ski resorts in the Northwest. That’s according to a new study.

Former president Bill Clinton’s appearance drew over 3,000 supporters to downtown Seattle Saturday. Organizers called it one of the biggest political fundraisers in recent memory.He came to campaign for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jay Inslee. Inslee faces Republican Rob McKenna in one of the tightest governors’ races in the country this fall.

A study released Monday by the U.S. National Academy of Sciences indicates that some mammals might be unable to keep up with environmental changes. Aaron Kunz explains what that means for the Pacific Northwest.

The study looked at nearly 500 species in North and South America. It determined that close to 10 percent will not be able change habitat in order to keep pace with climate change.

An environmental group has rated each state’s strategy for dealing with climate change. Problems can range from droughts to rising sea levels. As correspondent Courtney Flatt reports, two of the Pacific Northwest states are well prepared.
