The international radio news service of the BBC. Broadcasting worldwide digitally, on shortwave radio, and over the internet, the BBC World Service reaches a weekly audience of 188 million people with international news and talk. As a Crown Corporation of the British Government, it is non-profit, commercial-free, and politically independent. The BBC World Service also broadcasts in 26 other languages, besides English, and is the world's largest broadcaster.
Northwest Public Radio broadcasts the BBC World Service overnight on our NPR News Service, from 11:00 pm to 5:00 am on weekdays, and from 9:00 pm to 6:00 am on weekends.
