From The Top Auditions Due

From The Top joins Northwest Public Radio April 24 in Tacoma's Rialto Theater.

Young classical musicans: send in your audition tape now! Submissions are due at the end of the month.  

Northwest Public Radio is seeking applications from young musicians across the region to be on the April 24 show, at the Rialto Theater in Tacoma, sponsored in part by Ted Brown Music and the Broadway Center For The Performing Arts.

Musicians are eligible if they are between the ages of 8–18 and have not enrolled in a college or conservatory. They should also live in, or have a significant training connection to, the US.

Whether you’re a solo instrumentalist, vocalist or composer, you can apply to be on the show.

  From The Top also seeks submissions from small ensembles with 8 members or fewer, and large ensembles with 9 members or more.

Broadcast on 250 stations nationwide to an audience of more than 700,000 listeners, From the Top is one of the most popular classical music programs on radio. Each one hour episode presents five high-caliber performances along with interviews, sketches and games, revealing the heart and soul behind extraordinary young musicians. Now in its thirteenth year on air, From the Top is taped before live audiences in concert halls from Boston to Honolulu and is distributed by NPR.

It airs Sundays at noon on the NPR and Classical Music service.
