Leaders from Nike, Intel and the Portland Trail Blazers discussed at a conference in Portland Tuesday what businesses can do to respond to climate change.
The GoGreen Conference is a daylong event focused on environmental issues. It is being held in four cities across the country this year. In a panel discussion titled "Getting Serious About Climate Change," Justin Zeulner of the Portland Trail Blazers joined leaders from Nike, Intel, the City of Portland and the Coalition of Communities of Color. Zuelner says companies across corporate America are being taxed by climate change.
Zuelner: "I'm seeing organizations and industries saying the time is critically now. And I will tell you we're not moving fast enough and we need to make significant progress."
Zuelner advised companies to use economics and competition to spur action on climate change. John Harland of Intel recommended using data to prioritize actions that will have the biggest impact.
