NWPR's Kerry Swanson Elected to NPR Board of Directors
Swanson will help the board with management goals, policies, and financial oversight as well as the overall direction of NPR.
In his 30 years of experience, Swanson has held numerous positions in radio. He started as an announcer at KPLU in the Seattle/Tacoma area and progressed to management. He also worked in Atlanta where he was the director and manager of the local NPR & Classical radio station and eventually returned to the Pacific Northwest as the station manager of Northwest Public Radio.
Swanson expressed his excitement about being elected to the board. “It will be one of those really career-defining aspects of my job, of my career, to be a part of Board of Directors of NPR,” he said.
Swanson’s three year term begins in November.
