Fire management teams are hoping that additional air support and favorable weather conditions will help in the containment of the massive Taylor Bridge Wildfire east of Cle Elum. The blaze has consumed some 60 homes and forced hundreds of people to evacuate.
Fire team spokeswoman Josie Williams.
Williams: "We currently have an air tanker from Moses Lake, Washington, and one from Canada assigned to the fire. There are, additionally, six helicopters also assigned. By tonight, hopefully with the help of the air support, they’ll have it at 25 percent containment."
About 800 firefighters are currently working to contain the blaze. Lines have been built around about 10 percent of the 44-square mile fire that began Monday afternoon.
