Governor John Kitzhaber announced Friday that a hundred more part-time workers will be added to Oregon's health insurance exchange.
Staff from the Oregon Health Authority and other state agencies will also be brought in to help process paper applications.
Kitzhaber says he doesn't know when the Cover Oregon website will be fully working, but he wants applicants to move forward with paper forms, rather than wait.
"If I didn't have health insurance, my biggest concern would be getting health insurance not whether I did it on line or did it on a paper form," says Kitzhaber.
Kitzhaber conceded the state may have been a little ambitious trying to put together a site that deals with insurance, as well as the Oregon Health Plan and the state's Healthy Kids Plan. Applicants can still compare health insurance and prices on the Cover Oregon website. The state initially said the site would be fully functional by Friday.
