It's a hot dry day for fire fighters battling blazes along Route 141 in Washington, just north of White Salmon. Forty-five homes have been evacuated since Wednesday afternoon. Other homeowners have been notified they need to be ready to evacuate on short notice.
Tyson Trout helped his folks pack photographs and important documents, just in case they have to leave.
Trout: "We got a lot of stuff moved out yesterday afternoon. and I think my dad and my step mom have more stuff packed up just in case."
Stan Hinatsu of the U.S. Forest Service says the blaze started at several points along Route 141, and there were no lightening strikes at the time. He says it's too soon to say if the fire is suspicious, but it does look like it may have been caused by human activity.
