Washington’s health exchange, the online market for health plans doesn’t open until October 1st. But people with questions can contact the exchange’s call center starting Tuesday. The Spokane based call center opened at 7:30 this morning.
Richard Onizuka is CEO of the exchange. He says consumers with questions about options for health plans, and whether they qualify for financial assistance can ask one of the 80 representatives at the call center.
“They’ve been getting lots of training about the Affordable Care Act, and the options, as well as our system" says Onizuka.
Onizuka says representatives can help inform consumers on what they need to know about enrolling for a health plan. Assistance is available in up to 175 languages.
The call center is open weekdays between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 pm. The toll free number for the call center is 1-855-923-4633.
