The director of Oregon's troubled health insurance exchange is acknowledging widespread problems with the website at the heart of the program. Rocky King testified to a pair of legislative panels at the Oregon capitol Wednesday.
Cover Oregon has resorted to asking for paper applications after the online portal failed to launch properly in October. King leaned in close to the mic as he testified it's clear that the insurance exchange is not meeting expectations.
King: "We know that Oregonians are frustrated. The staff is frustrated. Our contractors are frustrated. Individual citizens are frustrated."
King told lawmakers that tech contractor Oracle expects to have the website fully functional by mid-December. But he said even that's no sure thing.
