Firefighters battling the massive Taylor Bridge Wildfire east of Cle Elum are hoping added air support and light winds will allow them to get containment up to 25 percent by this evening.
On the fire lines, correspondent Anna King brings us the story.
It’s over 28,000 acres at this point. It’s about 10 percent contained. There’s many people that have been evacuated out of their homes. Some are standing on roadblocks, trying to watch what’s happening with their homes.
The main threat seems to be near the Sunlight Water development east of Cle Elum. That area is being heavily doused with water and fire retardant from helicopters so that they can try and keep the fire away from those areas.
Some 800 firefighters are working to contain the blaze. It has consumed some 60 homes since it began Monday afternoon.
