Washington’s attorney general is suing Uber over a data breach that affected nearly 11,000 drivers in the state. The app-based car company violated state law by waiting more than a year to report the breach, said Attorney General Bob Ferguson.

In Burien, a city council incumbent is conceding defeat. Debi Wagner served for four years. She trails challenger Jimmy Matta by nearly 400 votes.

Matta and one of his running mates are set to become Burien’s first Latino council members after a charged race that revolved in part around immigration and crime.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement says it arrested nearly 500 people nationwide last week in an operation targeting so-called “sanctuary cities.”

Thirty-three of those arrests were in Washington and Oregon. Officials with the agency known as ICE say they want to send a message to cities that limit their cooperation with immigration agents.

More than a quarter-million immigrants in Washington state are eligible for citizenship. But fewer than one-in-ten apply each year.
