Fluoridation On Tap For Portland City Council

Wednesday the Portland City Council is expected to pass an ordinance to add fluoride to the municipal water system. Anti-fluoridation groups have been outspoken in their opposition to the move but Mayor Sam Adams and two commissioners have already voiced their support, ensuring a majority on the five-member panel.

Kimberly Kaminski is Director of "Clean Water Portland." Her group opposes adding fluoride to city water supplies.

Wind Tower Manufacturer To Close Plants

A smoky haze is covering much of central Washington Wednesday. At least four significant wildfires are burning around Wenatchee. About 150 homes have been evacuated there, along with another 40 near the town of Cashmere. Fire managers have told even more people to be ready to flee.

Court Questions Validity Of Abortion Law Used To Charge Idaho Woman

A federal ruling out Tuesday will prevent further prosecution, for now, against an Idaho woman charged with having an illegal abortion. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals also questioned the constitutionality of the anti-abortion law Jennie Linn McCormack was charged with violating.
