Event Description

Kaha:wi Dance Theatre | Going on Dreams photo by J. Jenkins

Kaha:wi Dance Theatre is one of Canada's leading contemporary dance companies, exploring the intersection of indigenous and new dance performance. KDT was founded by artistic director Santee Smith, a leading Canadian choreographer known for meaningful, athletic, and earthbound movement language.

This special program will include "The Honouring," a site-specific, multidisciplinary performance paying homage to First Nations warriors of the War of 1812 and the Onkwehonwe families who sacrificed to protect Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) sovereignty, culture, and land.

Copresented by WSU Performing Arts and Festival Dance & Performing Arts, in residence at the University of Idaho.
