Description
Rabbit Hole tells a simple yet rich story about a family overcoming the death of their child. Significant events do happen in the play of course, but Lindsay-Abaire’s presentation is so subtle that the audience does not see the shifts until they have already occurred. Characters: 3 Women; 1 Man; 1 Teenage Boy Becca (late thirties/early forties) has shut down emotionally as a result of her child’s unfortunate death. Howie (late thirties/early forties) is visibly more emotional than his wife, Becca, in coping with the loss of their son. Nat (sixties) has the levity and poignancy that you would expect from a mom wanting to comfort her daughter and make everything all right. A lovely role for a veteran actress. Izzy (early thirties) is dizzily hyper, but not ditsy. She’s always been Becca’s less responsible kid sister, but the actress playing her should exhibit character growth. Jason (17-year-old) is a teenager exhibiting the usual goofiness, awkwardness, and a gentle cockiness you’d expect from an intelligent being of this age.
